Leon Kendrick Youth Voices United is providing students between the ages of six and eighteen with professionally developed and taught programs in visual and performing arts.
Classes are held in eight to twelve week sessions. At the end of each session students will display their vocal, instrumental, dance, and acting abilities before a live audience in a play, concert, or recital. The visual art student's creative design skillls are illuminated through stage and costume design of productions, as well as, in art exhibits.
Our mission is to use the visual and performing arts discipline techniques to establish family values, interactive communication, and leadership skills that will have a positive impact on the community. LKYVU is geared toward providing working parents and the community with an educational place for students to attend after school and during the summer months. The students that attend, will obtain life skills and professional training in the visual and performing arts.
Our goal is to give students a positive outlet to relieve tension, display creativity, develop leadership, social, and communication skills that will propel them in a positive direction and bring the community and schools to new hieghts. LKYVU will motivate students to succeed in school, which in turn will build self-esteem and moral. Our programs will form the discipline needed for them to succeed in college and the workforce.
